Homemade Pie Crust Recipe

Trust me when I say you’ll never return to buying store-bought pie crust once you learn how to make your own! This easy tutorial uses simple ingredients and turns out perfect every time!

What you need:

all-purpose flour sugar salt butter vegetable shortening ice water

Whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, and sugar. Then add the cold cubed butter and cold vegetable shortening and cut it into the dry ingredients.

Slowly and gently mix in ice water until the dough comes together then turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pack it into a ball.

Cut the dough in half and flatten it out into two discs. Wrap each tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Roll out the dough until it is 12 inches in diameter then fit it in a pie plate, trim any excess dough, and decorate the edges.
